OREGON STEAKS
YOUR DEPENDABLE 24/7 FRIEND
Let's say the Phillies game went 12 innings, and it took you another 45 minutes to get onto Broad Street. Or let's say your flight got in at 1:39 am and you're heading on I-95 back toward the city. You're absolutely starving for a good cheesesteak. Where ya gonna go at that late hour?
There is one obvious answer - Oregon Steaks, the cheesesteak mansion at 10th and Oregon with the big blue letters and a giant cutout cheesesteak sign reaching into the sky. They are open 24/7 through rain and sleet and snow. Even during a tornado, earthquake or volcanic eruption, the friendly folks at Oregon Steaks are there to serve up one of the finest cheesesteaks you will find anywhere in the city.
By the way, those cheesesteaks are just as delicious on a nice, sunny spring day.
An Oregon steak is a good, honest, no-frills cheesesteak bursting with flavor. Sizzling strips of unchopped beef, well seasoned, stuffed into a tasty roll with your cheese of choice and onions (or not), and wrapped like a gift in white paper decorated with Oregon Steaks' distinctive blue logo.
Oregon Avenue east of Broad Street is a tangle of telephone poles, wires, middle-of-the-street parking, small businesses, and residences of every description. The gleaming Oregon Steaks mansion seems almost out of place. The building used to be the run-down 10th/Oregon Beef & Pork House, but Oregon Steaks upgraded it into a tall, clean, attractive structure. There is a large covered outdoor seating area so you can enjoy your cheesesteak in comfort.
